If you want to be effective in helping people through change at work, you need to understand our brains and how to leverage brain science to reduce the threats and enhance the rewards associated with transition. This course lays it all out: the science, the implications for change efforts, and the strategies for working with our nervous systems instead of against them. The learning gels because it takes place in a group that includes lots of smart people from diverse backgrounds who are all sharing stories and examples and making connections with the content as you go. After completing the program, I find myself going back to the PEPE model every time I'm working with a leader or team that's 'stuck' or looking to design a change and transition process that considers the people side and treats the nervous system as a true stakeholder.

I really enjoyed the course, a great balance between learning about the science and applying it to day-to-day management of change. I loved the section about how to best engage with people and recognize the different approaches everyone has when dealing with change.

Neuroscience for Change confirmed some of the behaviors and brain reactions that I have experienced and observed while working on various change initiatives. The main takeaway for me is the importance of understanding that our brain is like a sophisticated machine that needs to be looked after: the brain needs the right fuel, reward, and sometimes threat to perform to the best of its abilities to be at peak and deliver. However, everything needs to be in balance so our brain also needs to recharge batteries, time to reflect is also needed in order to be ready for next peak time to work on full speed. So this course is like a great recipe / instruction manual how to manage and maintain human brain especially brains of people involved in change initiatives.

It was insightful to understand why people act the way they do when they are going through change - especially the impact on our brains and energy levels. The course provided tools and techniques of how to best support people throughout the change process and what factors we need to consider. I've started to use the course to consider how and when we celebrate successful change. I would highly recommend to those in delivering change and those managing/supporting others in a changing environment.
