Even if an IT system works well enough, it can still be difficult to locate the right information, at the right time in order to make the right decisions.  

The challenge is not limited to technology—it includes managing business information in a way that supports real needs and delivers measurable value. 

The Business Information Services Library (BiSL) Certification helps professionals solve this issue. 

BiSL helps organizations take a systematic approach in aligning business demands with information services. This ensures IT capabilities truly support business goals. 

With its comprehensive process model, shared terminology, and extensive library of best practices, BiSL creates a common language between the business and IT. As a result, professionals are able to move beyond data delivery to active information stewardship— improving decision-making, responsiveness, and return on investment. 

Business Information Services Library (BiSL®) Training and Certifications

  • BiSL training and certification brings a professional and systematic approach to managing business information.
  • Candidates will learn a comprehensive process framework for business information management as supported by a growing number of best practices.
  • The BiSL 4 Foundation and Practitioner exam are both based on the 4th edition (2024) of the BiSL Framework. Please note the exam is available in Dutch only.
  • You can study by attending an online (virtual) classroom or in-person training. Alternatively, you can book an exam directly and self-study.
  • The typical duration of the Foundation course is 2 days, and for the Practitioner level, also 2 days.
  • Pricing options are available through our Accredited Training Organization (ATO) network, or for an exam-only option, via our Public Exam Portal.
