For individuals self-studying it is almost impossible to say. As all candidates have different experiences and amount of time available for study, it varies from person to person. For those studying with an accredited training organization, foundation courses are generally delivered over 3 days. A combined foundation and practitioner course will generally be delivered over 5 days. It is well worth investigating with individual providers, as many will offer tailored and blended learning solutions.

Het Project Planning and Control foundation examen bestaat uit 50 meerkeuzevragen, waarbij 25 punten (50%) nodig zijn om te slagen. Het is een gesloten-boek examen dat in 40 minuten moet worden voltooid.
Het practitioner examen bestaat uit 8 vragen met 10 punten beschikbaar per vraag, te voltooien in 3 uur. In totaal zijn 80 punten beschikbaar, waarbij 40 punten (50%) nodig zijn om te slagen. Het examen is in het complexe meervoudige OTE-formaat gebaseerd op een scenario en aanvullende vraaginformatie. Het is een open-boek examen (alleen PPC gids) en een eenvoudige rekenmachine mag ook worden gebruikt.
