About this level
The Better Business Cases course and certification is suitable for anyone who:
- Wants to deepen their understanding of Better Business Cases processes and techniques.
- Is responsible for the successful delivery of programmes and projects, such as Senior Responsible Owners (SROs) or Programme Directors.
- Is responsible for developing a business case for investment, such as Project Managers, Project Team members and other specialist advisors.
- Is involved in the scrutiny and review of investment proposals.

What are the key things you will learn?
- The development lifecycle of a business case and the relationships between the five cases.
- How to apply the steps in the business case development framework, in order to support the production of a business case, using the Five Case Model methodology, for a given scenario.
Exam format
- Objective-testing format.
- 4 questions worth 20 marks each.
- 40 marks required to pass (out of 80 available) – 50%.
- Duration of 2.5 hours.
- Open-book – the International Guide to developing the Project Business Case and International Guide to developing the Programme Business Case may be used during the exam.
